How to edit text in a PDF

  1. Open your PDF. Drop it on the page or choose it from your device. It opens right here; nothing is uploaded.
  2. Click the text you want to change. Hover to see each block of text outlined, then click it and type.
  3. Check the font. The panel shows whether we're using the PDF's own font or the closest match.
  4. Download. Save the edited PDF. Everything else in the file stays exactly as it was.

Questions people ask

Is this PDF editor really free?

Yes. There's no sign-up, no watermark and no page limit. The site is paid for by ads.

Can I edit a PDF on my phone?

Yes. It works in Safari on iPhone and Chrome on Android. Tap the text you want to change.

Do I need Adobe Acrobat?

No. Everything happens in your web browser, so there's nothing to install.

Will my edit use the same font as the PDF?

Usually, yes. When the PDF contains the font and every letter you type, we reuse that exact font. PDFs often store only the letters they already use, so if you type a new letter we switch that block to the closest standard font and tell you.

Is my PDF uploaded anywhere?

No. The editor runs entirely in your browser. Your file never leaves your device, and closing the tab removes it.

Can I edit a scanned PDF?

Not yet. A scan is a picture of a page, so it has no real text to edit. A scan-to-text tool is on the way.
