How to make a passport photo at home

  1. Take or choose a photo. Face the camera straight on, against a plain wall, in even light. Use the back camera held at eye level if you can.
  2. Pick your document. We crop to the official size and head height and can make the background white.
  3. Fine-tune. Use Head size and Up or down if the framing needs a nudge.
  4. Download or print. Upload the single photo, or print the 6 × 4 in sheet at any photo printer.

Will my photo be accepted?

We match the official size and head height, but whether it's accepted depends on the photo itself: lighting, expression and background. Check the rules for your document.

How do I print it?

Choose Print sheet and print it as a standard 6 × 4 inch (10 × 15 cm) photo at a shop or kiosk, then cut along the lines.

Is my photo uploaded?

No. Face detection and background whitening happen on your device.
