How to add and subtract time
- Choose what to work out. Time between two clock times (like a shift), or add and subtract amounts of time.
- Enter the times. End times earlier than the start, like a night shift, are counted across midnight.

How do I calculate hours worked?
Choose Time between two times, enter the start and finish, and the unpaid break. The answer shows the hours worked, and decimal hours to multiply by your hourly rate.
What is 7 hours 30 minutes in decimal?
7.5 hours. Divide the minutes by 60: 30 ÷ 60 = 0.5.
Does it work for night shifts?
Yes. If the end time is earlier than the start time, it's counted as the next day.
