How to compress a file to a specific size

  1. Add your file. A PDF, or a photo such as a signature or passport picture.
  2. Choose the limit. Pick 20 KB, 50 KB, 100 KB, 200 KB, 500 KB or type your own.
  3. Download. We keep the best quality that fits and tell you the final size.

Questions people ask

Does it work with PNG too?

Yes. PNG and WebP images are saved as a JPG under 50 KB.

Will it change the photo's size in pixels?

Only if needed. We lower quality first and shrink the dimensions only when the limit requires it.

Is my photo uploaded?

No. Everything happens on your device.

Why do application forms have size limits?

Government, exam and job portals often accept only small files, for example a photo under 50 KB or a document under 200 KB.

What if my file can't get that small?

We'll tell you the smallest size we could reach. For PDFs, removing pages you don't need helps; for photos, cropping out the background helps.

Does the photo keep its dimensions?

We keep them when possible. If the limit is very small, we also reduce the width and height and show you the final size in pixels.
